Last night was the Barnes and Noble "Midnight Madness" party for Harry Potter. I got there aroune 7:30 with Lauren and we met up with Tish, Danielle and Cathy who had all dressed for the occasion. Sophie and Mariya joined us later, and Michelle, Janie and Eric all visited for a short time before departing.
There were a LOT of people there. We were lucky enough to snag one of the tables in the Cafe early on and we stayed there practically the whole night, playing Taboo and various card games, talking, and generally enjoying each other's company. We did get up once to go check out the few activities they had stationed around the store; they were basically the same as last year. Make your own wand, get your picture taken with Harry, etc. No Tim the Twister making balloon swords this year, unfortunately.
The first thing I did when I got my copy of the book was turn to the page of the alleged spoiler to see if it was there. :/
Anyway, pictures!

Harry Potter nerds.

The Faceoff. I am seriously in love with Danielle.

Slytherins always do the same pose. Ravenclaws are kinky. Gryffindors are so incredibly cuuuuute.

The girl dressed up as Moaning Myrtle told us how, when she had come dressed up as Myrtle when the last book came out, another girl that had dressed as Ginny threw books at her head. That's so hardcore...

Lauren didn't want to be seen with Cathy, Danielle and Tish (because of their outfits, of course) and did a pretty good job of keeping her distance the first half an hour or so. I was increasingly glad that I did not dress up (Cathy had asked me to, but the only available house left was Hufflepuff, but they're lame. I don't know that I would've dressed up even if I had a better option though.); people were staring/pointing/giggling at those three for the whole of the night. I couldn't even bring myself to wear my Gryffindor scarf.

I so wanted a gangster pic with the guy dressed up as Dumbledore but, alas, it didn't happen.

Haha, their faces in this one kill me.

Tish is doing the Dan pose. And Cathy is doing the same damn Slytherin pose.
I found this guy in a magazine ("The magazine for the rest of us" it claimed); DOESN'T HE LOOK LIKE A MANNEQUIN?!

Our table.

Tish and Cathy.

I'd never talked to Tish before last night, and, can I just say, she's awesome. She was sooooooo nice and surprisingly completely comfortable with all us older folks. Also, she shared her Lip Venom with us. :D

Thoughtful Mariya.

Purdy Sophie.

I wanted to get some good shots of the crowd, but this is the best I could get.
This is how we were feeling by the end of the night:
